Breweries and Bars in Some Ontario Communities Allowed to Reopen for Patio Service This Friday

TORONTO, ON – The Government of Ontario has announced that Stage 2 of its COVID-19 economic relaunch – including the partial reopening of breweries and other food and drink establishments – will be going into effect in some areas of the province this Friday June 12th.

As part of Stage 2 of the Reopening Ontario plan, restaurants, bars, food trucks, wineries, breweries and distilleries will be allowed to start offering service on patios or other outdoor seating areas as long as sufficent physical distancing and cleanliness guidelines are in place.

Areas of Ontario excluded from reopening for now due to not meeting the required criteria include Durham Region, Haldimand-Norfolk, Halton Region, Hamilton, Lambton, Niagara Region, Peel Region, Toronto, Windsor-Essex County, and York Region. COVID-19 trends in these areas will continue to be monitored, and those that are ready to proceed to Stage 2 will be announced each Monday going forward.

For more information, including details on all businesses and services that will be allowed to reopen as part of Stage 2, see the full list on the Government of Ontario website.
