Breweries and Bars in Most of Windsor-Essex Region Allowed to Reopen for Patio Service Tomorrow

TORONTO, ON – The Government of Ontario has announced that Stage 2 of its COVID-19 economic relaunch – including the partial reopening of breweries and other food and drink establishments – will be rolling out in most of the Windsor-Essex Region tomorrow (June 25th).

As part of Stage 2 of the Reopening Ontario plan, restaurants, bars, food trucks, wineries, breweries and distilleries can start offering service on patios or other outdoor seating areas as long as sufficient physical distancing and cleanliness guidelines are in place.

Businesses in most of the province have been allowed to reopen over the last two weeks, including today in Toronto and Peel Region, but Windsor-Essex had been excluded due to not meeting the required criteria.

As of tomorrow, Stage 2 reopenings will be allowed to take place in Windsor and Essex County, with the exception of Leamington and Kingsville. COVID-19 trends in those two communities will continue to be monitored, and reopening will proceed once it is deemed safe to do so.

For more information, including details on all businesses and services that are allowed to reopen as part of Stage 2, see the full list on the Government of Ontario website.
