Nonsuch Brewing Releases Barrel-Aged Rotbier in Collaboration with Revelation Ale Works

WINNIPEG, MB – Nonsuch Brewing has announced the release of a collaboration with Revelation Ale Works of Hallock, Minnesota.

Ryan Evenson from Revelation visited Nonsuch in January, and worked together with Nonsuch head brewer Mark Borowski on a Rotbier, a traditional red beer from Nürnberg that is rarely brewed elsewhere. It was then aged in an oak whiskey barrel for four months, and the result is described as follows

Our Rotbier pours a crystal clear dark red. As the off-white head rises, you can expect whiskey, burnt caramel, and wood aromas on the nose. On the palette, it opens with light whiskey notes before a smooth lager taste and a hint of toffee. “Burnt caramel Bundt cake,” Mark summarizes.

Rotbier is on tap now at Nonsuch while supplies last.
