University of Alberta Faculty of Extension and Jason Foster Presenting Online Course “Around The Beer World”

EDMONTON, AB – Beer educator and consultant Jason Foster (pictured) has announced details of an upcoming online beer course that he is presenting in partnership with the University of Alberta Faculty of Extension.

Around The Beer World is described as follows:

This four-part cultural workshop explores the ever-growing world of beer as you learn the basics of sampling and evaluating beer. Understand how different ingredients affect flavour and aroma and be introduced to beer history and brewing techniques. Learn about different beer styles, their origins and evolution, and how to identify good examples you can find locally. Sample a range of beer from classics to new, cutting-edge styles created by up-and-coming breweries.

The course will be hosted via Zoom, and will be offered in two different session streams on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from August 18th/19th to September 8th/9th, with a registration fee of $75.

While the course can be taken from anywhere, the beer tasting component will be best experienced by those in Edmonton and area who purchase the special course pack of 16 beers – 4 per week – from Sherbrooke Liquor. The pack costs $100, with Foster noting that it “may seem a bit pricey, but trust me, there are some real gems in there.”

For more details and to register for the course, see the full announcement on Foster’s website On Beer, and the Eventbrite listing.
