Great Lakes Brewery Releases Empowered NEPA to Support the Jean Augustine Centre

TORONTO, ON – Great Lakes Brewery has announced the release of a new beer in support of a worthy local community organization.

Empowered (4.6% abv) is a New England style Pale Ale

It pours hazy golden yellow in colour with a tight white crown. Aromas of tropical fruits (slight pineapple and mango) alongside some grapefruit, peach, and pear, with a touch of floral notes. Light to medium bodied with a delicate bitterness, Empowered NE Pale Ale offers subtle notes of fresh peach, mango, grape and a hint of watermelon. A complex beer at a lower abv and all for a great cause.

$1 from each can of Empowered purchased will be donated directly to the Jean Augustine Centre for Young Women’s Empowerment, an organization that is “committed to building the self-esteem & self-worth of young women & girls by positively influencing their outlook on life, broadening their horizons, & helping them to empower themselves through programs, camps, workshops and events.”

Empowered will be available to order via the GLB online shop starting at 6:30 PM today (August 19th), and it will also be in stock at the brewery retail store while supplies last.

For more details on the Jean Augustine Centre, see the Q&A on the GLB website.
