Henderson Brewing Ides Series Continues with Glad Day Belgian Blonde

TORONTO, ON – Henderson Brewing has announced details of latest in its monthly Ides Series of limited edition beers, with this month’s instalment paying tribute to a legendary institution in Toronto’s queer community.

Glad Day Belgian Blonde (4% abv) is a collaboration with Glad Day Bookshop, which opened in 1970 and is the oldest surviving LGBTQ+ focused bookshop in North America.

The beer is described as follows:

With Glad Day playing such an influence for the LGBTQ community, the recipe for this Belgian blonde was developed with the Pride Flag as an inspiration. Our brewers utilized an ingredient for each colour on the flag: Red is raspberries, orange is orange peel, yellow is pale barley malt, green is hops, blue is water and purple is heather flowers.

While we call it a Belgian ‘blonde’, Glad Day pours a hazy pink colour with notes of tart raspberries, fruity esters and a hint of herbal, floral hops. Light bodied and only 4%, this fruity ale is perfect for the warm weather that we hope is coming in the near future!

Glad Day Belgian Blonde is available now at the Henderson retail store and online shop. Partial proceeds from its sales will be donated to HALCO: HIV & AIDS Legal Clinic Ontario.
