Burdock Brewery Releases Small Hoppy Beer Tiny IPA and SPROCO Apricot Sour

TORONTO, ON – Burdock Brewery has announced the release of two new light and refreshing ales.

Small Hoppy Beer Tiny IPA (2.9% abv):

We have been drinking lots of low ABV beer lately and brewing them is a delightful challenge. Alcohol is a major flavour enhancer; it helps extract oils from hops, and it gives beer weight (i.e. makes it taste less like water). When making low ABV there are a few techniques we employ to make the flavour pop. One of the biggest impacts is the yeast, and when Escarpment Labs released a new yeast strain that they bred in house specifically for making juicy low ABV hoppy beers – we had to jump! Small Hoppy Beer delivers on its eponymous promise. Expect notes of high-end dried mango, fresh crushed pineapple and not-so-distant spruce tips.

SPROCO Apricot Sour (5% abv):

We wanted to make a sour beer that captures the feeling of biting into a perfectly ripe, freshly-picked deep orange apricot – the kind that melts in your mouth, and leaves your hands sticky and your soul nostalgic for fuzzy 5 cent candies; the kind that tastes like good summer. Enter: SPROCO. Made with fresh and fine Beamsville, ON apricots and beautiful Nelson Sauvin hops, SPROCO is a deliciously fun beer. This is a full fruit experience with notes of tangerine, nectarine, and of course… APRICOT!

Both beers are available now at the Burdock retail store and online shop.
