Left Field Brewery Releases 2021 Editions of Blackburne Imperial Stout

TORONTO, ON – Left Field Brewery has announced the release of three editions of its annual strong winter seasonal beer.

Blackburne Imperial Stout (9.7% abv) is back for its 5th annual visit:

This colossal stout is named in honour of the secretive and strange ritual behind every Major League baseball. This beer pours black and opaque with a mocha foam, giving aromas of baker’s chocolate, vanilla and plum. Blackburne is viscous and smooth, saturated with decadent fudge and toffee, and laced with evergreen bitterness that gives way to a warming finish.

The flavoured variant for 2021 is Chocolate Orange Blackburne (9.7% abv):

The next chapter of this mysterious story unfolds with the addition of cocoa nibs and loads of orange zest. This unique version of our imperial stout is a decadent and zesty treat, all wrapped-up with a warm, comforting finish.

And while past years have included a bourbon barrel aged version, its been replaced this year with Rum Barrel Aged Blackburne (10.7% abv):

The mystery deepens as this imperial stout emerges after aging for one year in Jamaican Rum barrels. Raisin and plum on the nose give way to aromas of molasses and allspice. Dark chocolate dominates the palate, with a full, warming finish.

All three versions of Blackburne 2021 are available now individually and in a special 3-pack in the Left Field retail store and online shop.
