EDGERTON & EDISON, AB – Ribstone Creek Brewery and Apex Predator Brewing have announced the return of a collaborative beer that they first brewed five years ago.
Released under the Twin Creeks label – a reference that was more fitting the first time around, when Apex Predator was known as Bench Creek Brewing – The Hermit English Brown Ale (6% abv) is described as follows:
Crafted as a tribute to the classic Hermit Cookie, this English Brown Ale combines rich biscuit, nut and caramel malt flavour with additions of fresh dates, molasses, nutmeg, and Madagascar vanilla bean. Our two breweries came together, developed a recipe, and took that exact same recipe to our respective breweries, and essentially brewed the exact same beer. The result was two batches of beer that, in theory, should be exactly the same. However the subtle nuances of different water sources, brewing equipment, and brewing techniques produced two noticeably different beers.
Each brewery is selling its respective version of The Hermit now while supplies last.
