Good Robot Brewing and Blk Women in Excellence Release Cherry Vanilla Porter

HALIFAX, NS – Good Robot Brewing has announced the release of its latest Goodwill Beer, a thrice-yearly series that supports local charity and community organizations.

Cherry Vanilla Porter was created in collaboration with Blk Women in Excellence (BWiE), a “non profit organization dedicated to supporting, uplifting, encouraging and educating black women pursuing entrepreneurship in Canada.”

“We need to be included and we are not included,” says BWiE founder Tia Upshaw (pictured). “We have the skills and attributes. We always had that side hustle to make sure that our kids are always good, so why not take that from a side hustle and put it into a legitimate, sustainable business.”

Cherry Vanilla Porter is described as “a well balanced beer that is not too heavy with hints of cherry and vanilla.” Fifty cents from each can or pint sold will go to BWiE and its work “securing mentorships and to assist in kickstarting small businesses created by black women entrepreneurs.”
