Bellwoods Brewery Releases Strong Beer/Bière Forte and Barn Owl No. 28

TORONTO, ON – Bellwoods Brewery has announced the release of a collaboration with a Quebec brewery, and the latest in an ongoing series of wood-aged ales.

Strong Beer/Bière Forte (7.5% abv):

Strong Beer/Bière Forte is a delicious (and bilingual!) IPA. It is also the result of an interprovincial collaboration with the team at Brasserie du Bas-Canada, based in Gatineau, QC. For this joint venture, each brewery agreed on two hops to use in their respective recipes and was left to select a third mystery hop; a decision informed by their personal hop whims and Humulus lupulus fancies. Our version is hopped with Citra, Strata, and … Lotus, which impart notes of grapefruit, candied pineapple, and tangerine. It’s big on flavour and very drinkable.

Barn Owl No. 28 (6.4% abv):

A new Barn Owl has swooped onto our shelves! No. 28 is a lightly dry hopped blend of pale ales aged in American Oak foeders and conditioned on Niagara apricots and peaches. Juicy, slightly-tropical fruit flavours are contrasted with a medium-sharp acidity reminiscent of Rocket Candy or Sour Patch Kids, creating a complex yet thirst-quenching experience.

Both beers are available now at the Bellwoods retail stores and online shop.
