HYPHA Project Releases Metatheion IPA

VANCOUVER, BC – HYPHA Project, a Vancouver collective that aims to be “a celebration of beer, art + community,” has announced its latest release.

Metatheion IPA (6.5% abv):

Metatheion is an experimental double-dry hopped Northeast style IPA brewed with a novel product called Phantasm, a powder created from the skins of Sauvignon Blanc grapes in New Zealand. When Phantasm powder is combined with a very particular custom developed yeast strain – BOOM! It is transformed into juicy flavour compounds. While not a replacement for traditional hops, it gives a big boost to the tropical notes desired in a modern IPA. This beer is double dry hopped with Citra and Mosaic hops to go along with the Phantasm.

The packaging for Metatheion features artwork by Brother Jopa, who provides the following artist’s statement:

The goal for this label was to create something impactful, and I loved the concept of a cold beer housed in a fiery label. The lettering in the design is my modern take on forms inspired by Egyptian hieroglyphs and East Asian calligraphy. To further contextualize the lettering, the name is accompanied by two symbols which represent elements crucial to the brewing process – Earth and Air.

Metatheion is available now at select beer retailers in British Columbia and Alberta, and can be ordered for home delivery via Beer Van.
