MERIT Brewing Releases Mi Deh Yah Grater Cake Sour and Sunken Gardens Pale Ale

HAMILTON, ON – MERIT Brewing has announced the release of two new small batch ales.

Mi Deh Yah Grater Cake Sour (4.6% abv):

MI DEH YAH – pronounced MEE DAY-YA, and meaning “everything is OK, I am well” or “I am here, I am present” – is our latest delicious sour beer from the mind of brewer Alex Blackburne and inspired by the ingredients of Jamaican grater cake – a dessert of grated coconut in a fondant of sugar in Jamaican street cuisine and a throwback to one of Alex’s favourite childhood (and present-day) desserts.

Brewed using loads of shredded coconut and freshly peeled and chopped ginger, MI DEH YAH bursts with luscious tropical aromatics and brings forth the true essence of grater cake – creamy coconut and a gentle sweetness capped with the gentle tang of fresh ginger. Throw on your shades, grab a glass and let this slice of perfect summer flavour fill your sunny days with joy!

Sunken Gardens Pale Ale (4.6% abv):

Named for Hamilton’s long lost surreal secret – Memorial Garden, now known as Sunken Gardens. Memorial Garden was originally built in the late 1920s and was once flush with flowers, surrounding a long reflecting pond adorned by fountains and giant staircases. The ravages of time have turned this once lush garden into a crumbling ruin, slowly overtaken by trees and vegetation.

This mellow hazy Pale Ale slakes your thirst with refreshing hop-forward flavours of fresh cut oranges and peel, hints of stone fruit, lime and a touch of low-key pine all wrapped up in a crisp short finish.

Mi Deh Yah and Sunken Gardens are available now in the MERIT Brewing retail store and online shop.
