Compass Brewing Looking for Investors to Avoid Closure

TIMMINS, ONThe Timmins Daily Press reports that local brewery Compass Brewing is looking for investors to help avert a possible closure.

Owner and brewer Kevin Patriquin tells the paper that a combination of factors including loss of business during COVID-19 lockdowns, the departure of his original business partners last year, losing a draught account with a national restaurant chain, and an impending rent increase have put the company in a precarious financial situation.

If new partners were to come on board, Patriquin has plans to make improvements to the brewery including adding washrooms to increase the legal capacity of the taproom from 25 to 125 patrons, and installing a high capacity canning line.

“I’d hate to see the company go belly up,” says Patriquin in the article. “All the sponsorships we’ve done, and the sanitizer we made through COVID, we’ve tried to help the community as much as possible, with bottle drives, and we’ve sponsored the Timmins Rock and soccer teams and things like that. We’re a community brewery.”

Those interested in discussing investment and partnership opportunities are encouraged to contact Kevin Patriquin at (705) 266-5562 or kevin@compassbrewing.com.
