Bellwoods Brewery Releases Barrel 437 Spontaneous Grape Ale and Farmageddon Blueberry Wild Ale

TORONTO, ON – Bellwoods Brewery has announced the release of a new pair of barrel-aged beers.

Barrel 437 (6.4% abv):

Barrel 437 is a single barrel Spontaneous Grape Ale and a collaboration with Still Fields — a brewery started by Owen Roth, our friend and former colleague. After a night in the coolship, the wort was added to freshly pressed Cab Franc skins, combining the wild yeast from these two sources. This hybrid elixir was fermented and aged in a single neutral French oak puncheon. The resulting beer is a happy (and delicious) meeting point of spontaneous beer and natural wine. Notes of grapefruit rind, green pepper, and strawberry jam, with assertive acidity.

Farmageddon Blueberry (6% abv):

We released Farmageddon Batch 17 a few weeks back, but, in the name of fanfare and panache, some of this Foeder Aged Wild Ale was sent on a detour via the scenic route to spend time on Canadian fruit, and, as can often happen with travel, was forever changed by this experience. Farmageddon Blueberry has been bottled and capped and is now ready to be uncapped and debottled by you — oh, the circuity of life! How delicious!

Both beers are available now at the Bellwoods retail stores and online shop.
