OTTAWA, ON – Broadhead Brewery has announced the latest release in its 174 Taproom Series of limited edition beers.
Berliner Weiss (4% abv):
Our Berliner Weiss is a pale, low ABV sour German wheat beer, that pours a cloudy yellow gold with a fluffy white head that slowly fades leaving minimal lacing. On the nose a funky/yeasty/citrus aroma leads into notes of grapefruit, lemon zest and wheat breads. Not nearly as tart in taste as the nose suggests, on the first sip you’ll taste lemon zest, bready malts and light green tea, finishing with a citrusy tang like a sour fruit juice. It’s medium bodied, with moderate carbonation, resulting in a bright and zesty beer. Finishes mostly dry with a nice tartness throughout.
