2 Crows Brewing Releases OK OK OK Farmhouse Ale

HALIFAX, NS – 2 Crows Brewing has announced the release of “something new and funky”.

OK OK OK Farmhouse Ale (5.1% abv):

Getting back to our funky roots, OK OK OK is a farmhouse-style beer with apricot, lime, and hand-harvested NS sea salt. We brewed it in November of last year, and fermented it with a big pitch of Verdant yeast alongside all our funky foedre cultures. The grist was 69% Shoreline pils, plus 16% flaked rye and 15% flaked rice. Mash hopped with Chinook, first wort hops with Sterling, and whirlpool with a hefty dose of Bru-1.

We let the beer hang out for a while, then this summer we put in about 200kg of Apricot puree, let that ferment out, then added 4 cases worth of lime juice and zest. Finally, we transferred back to stainless like a month ago, added a subtle amount of NS Sea Salt from some badass LaHave based salt harvesters that we love called OK Sea Salt. Canned + can conditioned and voila!

It’s not that aggressively funky, more of a hybrid between juicy-farmhousey-fruity-zesty-something. It’s a pretty fun beer, with just enough salinity to make you come back for another sip.

OK OK OK is currently available exclusively to 2 Crows newsletter subscribers, and will go into general release next week, when it will be available at the brewery’s taproom and online shop.
