Lovebird Brewing Debuts in Grey Highlands, Ontario

GREY HIGHLANDS, ONLovebird Brewing, a “nomad brewery” based in the Southern Ontario municipality of Grey Highlands, has announced the release of its first beer.

Good Things Dry-Hopped Rice Lager (4.6% abv):

This beer is sort of a mix of everything we love about lagers. It takes inspiration from Japanese dry rice lagers, old brewing processes in America, and our own spin using modern German hops. As the story goes, German brewers arriving in early America would brew beers with rice to recreate a lighter-bodied lager reminiscent of the pilsners from back home. Our rendition of this forgotten technique takes inspiration from the processes used by these European brewers in a new world. This beer was brewed with 26% rice, hopped in the kettle with Saphir to give it some notes of citrus and tangerine, and then finished off with a light dry-hop of Huell Melon to bring in some strawberry and honeydew finishing notes.

Good Things is available now at select bars and restaurants in the Grey Highlands area.
