Dominion City Brewing and Jaku Konbit Release Almost Home Sorrel Beer

OTTAWA, ON – Dominion City Brewing has announced the release of a new beer in collaboration with the Black-led Ottawa-based social organization Jaku Konbit.

Almost Home Sorrel Beer (4.6% abv):

Almost Home is inspired by the traditional flavours of Sorrel, a Caribbean drink made with hibiscus and spices. The beer name is inspired by the both the feeling of being taken home again through nostalgic flavours, and the book Almost Home: Maroons between Slavery and Freedom in Jamaica, Nova Scotia and Sierra Leone, written by author Ruma Chopra.

Almost Home – along with companion release Cool Runnings, a hibiscus and pomegranate flavoured non-alcoholic seltzer from Dominion City’s City Seltzer line – is available now at the Dominion City retail store and online shop. A portion of proceeds will go to support Jaku Konbit and its mission to “support and improve the lives of disadvantaged individuals and families of African and Caribbean descent”.
