The Establishment Brewing Company and 33 Acres Brewing Release The Other Shore Farmhouse Ale

CALGARY, AB & VANCOUVER, BC – The Establishment Brewing Company and 33 Acres Brewing have announced the release of a new inter-provincial collaboration.

The Other Shore Dryhopped Farmhouse Ale (6.8% abv):

Farmhouse Ales are typically Belgian, and Belgium borders France in the same way that AB borders BC. So, we brewed and dry-hopped this interprovincial outpouring with some fun French hops: Barbe Rouge, Triskel, and Strisselspalt, to be specific. We hit up homegrown Alberta floor maltsters Hogarth Malt for more than 90% of the grain that went into this beer. Floor malting is exactly what it sounds like: as farmhouse as it gets. (Industrial revolution, shmindustrial revolution.)

The Other Shore is plush on the palate and super-duper drinkable. Expect some spicy saison-appropriate notes from the yeast and give the hops français credit for the delicate floral flourishes. Pilsner malt sweetened the pot with a lovely aroma and just a touch of honey. All told, if delicious was measured in area, we’d say this is 33 acres of tasty.

The Other Shore is available now at the Establishment taproom and online shop, the 33 Acres Vancouver and Calgary taprooms and online store, and select beer retailers in Alberta and British Columbia.
