WHITBY, ON – Town Brewery has announced the latest release from its wild ale program.
Scenic Route Wild Ale with Strawberry (6.4% abv):
We saved a very special release for the first week of 2023 as a sign of good things to come over the next 12 months. We put more time and effort into this beer than anything we have ever produced here at Town. The idea started with a conversation with our good friends at Willowtree Farm about the best way to showcase their glorious fresh strawberries. We talked and talked and decided it would be really cool to brew a mixed culture wild ale and age it on as many fresh strawberries as we could. We wanted to produce a complex and interesting beer, but also allow for the strawberries to shine. The result is bright, funky and acidic with a bouquet of fresh strawberry field. It took the whole brew team 10 hrs to de-stem all the fresh strawberries and it sucked, but we can safely say now that it was worth it. We are extremely happy with the result and are very excited to share it with you.
