NWT Brewing Releases Five Antlers Ale and Ambrrr Ale

YELLOWKNIFE, NT – NWT Brewing Company has announced the return of a fundraising beer for caribou conservation, and the canned debut of a draught favourite.

Five Antlers Ale (4.6%) is a collaboration with NWT Species at Risk and takes its name from the five species of caribou that can be found in various regions of the Northwest Territories, all of which are at risk.

It’s described as “a mild and light copper ale with a dry maltiness and slight bitter caramel taste, extremely drinkable like a lager but with a bit more depth,” and has been released in five different cans – each representing one of the five caribou species – designed by local artist Robbie Craig.

Ambrrr Ale (5.3% abv) has made frequent appearances on tap at NWT’s The Woodyard brewpub, and has now been packaged for wider distribution. It has the following notes:

Ambrrr Ale is perfect for warming your heart while you take in all that the spectacular NWT has to offer. It is a perfect balance of malt and hops with more caramel notes than Ragged Pine. The style is called Amber Ale due to its rich amber colour and the style pairs with anything and everything!

Five Antlers Ale and Ambrrr Ale are available now at The Woodyard and liquor stores in Yellowknife. Partial proceeds from sales of Five Antlers will go towards caribou protection programs.
