People’s Pint Brewing Closes Down in Toronto

TORONTO, ON – Just a few weeks short of the fifth anniversary of its opening in Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood, People’s Pint Brewing announced today (February 1st) that it has closed its doors with immediate effect.

The following brief statement was posted this morning on social media:

It’s been a pretty tough few months for us. With the rising costs of everything, lower than normal sales and our boiler failure a few months ago, it has become next to impossible for us to continue operations. So, it is with a great deal of sadness that we made the decision to close our doors permanently as of today. We want to thank all our loyal customers and friends for all your support the last 5 years. We will always remember the good times and think fondly on all our days here.

People’s Pint opened its bricks-and-mortar brewery and taproom in March 2018 following several years as a homebrewing collective that released one-off beers in collaboration with established commercial breweries. Its location on Cawthra Avenue was previously occupied by Junction Craft Brewing, which moved to a larger facility where it continues to operate.
