ORO-MEDONTE, ON – Quayle’s Brewery has announced the release of a collaboration with Rustica Pizza Vino, and the latest in its Cabin Fever series of fruited sour ales.
Fumo Rossa Wood-Fired Red Lager (5.2% abv):
We’re pretty sure the closest thing to food and drink perfection is beer and pizza, but so many times this pairing never has partners on the same level! A gourmet pizza with an average beer and vice versa. Think about it. We have all done this in the past.
Designed in collaboration with our friends at Rustica Pizza Vino in Orillia, Fumo Rosso (translation “smoked red” in Italian) is the ideal pizza pairing. This crisp red lager has the inviting aroma of a wood fired pizza oven, and a robust malt character to compliment a rich Italian sauce. A great craft beer and a gourmet wood fired pizza… each sip and bite are heavenly.
Cabin Fever Raspberry Strawberry Sour (4.7% abv):
One day in our fields the wild strawberries were coming into fruit. A few short weeks later the wild raspberries were doing the same. Our team was snacking on this fruit from the land, enjoying the sweet flavours coming from nature and had one of those lightbulb moments. They did a blend of the two fruits and added it to our Cabin Fever sour – the result? Angels singing, cupid slinging arrows (you get the picture!). We had already filled our production schedule for the year so we had to wait until the 2023 calendar opened up. It’s pinkish hue made it a perfect candidate for a Valentine’s release!
Both beers are available now at the Quayle’s taproom, retail store and online shop. Fumo Rossa is also available at Rustica Pizza Vino and Brewery Bay Food Co. in Orillia.
