Village Brewery Releases Secret Handshake Triple IPA

CALGARY, AB – Village Brewery has announced the latest release in its Explorer Series of small batch beers, which also celebrates International Women’s Day.

Secret Handshake Triple IPA (11% abv):

For our hop-focused Pink Boots Collaboration Brew Day beer, our crew set out to create something bold and something that would push the boundaries of our brewhouse. Or, as Alyx would say, “…a hop-focused powerhouse.” It’s no Secret that this beer was brewed with the Yakima Chief Hops 6th Annual Pink Boots Blend.

This Triple IPA starts juicy and finishes with a slight bitterness. The complexity of brewing a higher alcohol content beer, yet maintaining drinkability and juiciness, was our motivator for this year’s brew. 2-Row Alberta malted barley and a touch of malted oats, from our dear friends Red Shed Malting, create a creamy mouthfeel and solid foundation for the bursting tropical hop profile. To deliver an explosive mango and citrus aroma, we dry hopped this sucker with the Pink Boots Blend (Loral®, Ekuanot® , HBC 586).

Secret Handshake is available now at the Village Brewery retail store and online shop, and soon at select beer retailers in Alberta.
