Tin Whistle Brewing Celebrated with Mural in Downtown Penticton

PENTICTON, BC – A new mural based on the award-winning branding and artwork of Tin Whistle Brewing is now on view in downtown Pentiction.

Designed by Kristiana Vellucci of Wallflower Studio, the “creative mastermind behind the Tin Whistle brand,” the mural is located on the side of Martin Street Liquor Merchants at 333 Martin Street.

“On the mural you’ll see a binocular-wielding, mom-tattooed quail who is watching roller-skating, endangered badgers and beer can lugging bighorn sheep,” said Vellucci in a statement. “We even added a rather large orange Sasquatch for good measure.”

The official unveiling took place yesterday on International Women’s Day, which was an intentional choice.

“We came together as a woman artist, woman brewery-owner, and woman liquor store owner,” said Alexis Esseltine, owner of Tin Whistle. “We aren’t always common in the more male-dominated beer world, but we are here to show what women can do!”

“At the end of the day we wanted to collaborate, add more public art to the City we love, celebrate women in business, and remind our daughters to dream big – maybe even as big as this mural!” added Leah Garras, owner of Martin Street Liquor Merchants.

The mural is planned to remain up indefinitely, and the public is invited to visit and share selfies and photos on social media with the hashtag #MartinStreetMural.
