Steel & Oak Brewing Releases Megalith Barleywine and Boxcar West Coast Pale Ale

NEW WESTMINSTER, BC – Steel & Oak Brewing has announced the release of two new small batch ales.

Megalith Barleywine (11.4% abv):

Megalith was brewed with the maximum amount of Floor Malted Maris Otter (a traditional English barley variety known for it’s biscuity and nutty flavour) our mash tun could handle. The resulting wort was boiled for 6 hours to concentrate and amplify all the malt character. Megalith has fruitcake and cherry candy aromas. Full bodied and malty with rich caramel and chewy molasses cookie tones.

Boxcar West Coast Pale Ale (4.5% abv):

Boxcar was inspired by head brewer Eric Moutal’s “house pale ale” from back in his home-brewing days. It was almost always on tap in the garage kegerator where his friends and neighbours would stop by for a pint and a chat. This version is dry hopped with Amarillo and rounded out with local Fraser Valley Citra and Cashmere. Brewed with Canadian pilsner malt and some Maris Otter. Aromatic notes of bright orange peel and underripe peach at the forefront along with an insinuation of walking thorough a coniferous forest. Drop that last line on your friends!

Both beers are available now at the Steel & Oak taproom, retail store, and online shop, and select private liquor stores in British Columbia.
