The Growler BC Spring/Summer 2023 Issue Now Available

VANCOUVER, BC – The Spring/Summer 2023 issue of The Growler, a publication subtitled the “B.C. Craft Beer & Cider Guide”, is now available.

In addition to the usual comprehensive listings of breweries and cideries in the province, contents of the new issue include the following:

Growler Ontario contributor Max Morin takes a trip along northwest B.C.’s Ale Trail, Matt Cavers discovers that the beer and cider scene in New Zealand is well worth the (long) trip, and Joe Wiebe takes us on the road to Toronto (where he was a judge at the Canada Beer Cup) and makes the case that Toronto should be nicknamed the “Six-Pack.”

Closer to home, Noëlle Phillips digs into B.C.s hidden beer industry—the malters who supply local products to breweries small and large, and Sandra Thomas talks to the team at Belgard Kitchen, who shared a recipe for salmon gravlax with IPA beet purée. Ted Child digs deep into history and asks the age-old question: What came first, beer or bread? And Growler Ontario editor Jordan St. John explores the zesty and cheerful hefeweizen—including suggested food pairings and must-try B.C. beers.

The Growler Volume 9 Issue 1 is available now at breweries, cideries, liquor stores, taprooms, and other retail locations throughout British Columbia.

It can also be purchased online individually or as part of an annual subscription, and select articles will be available to read on the magazine’s website.
