Registration Now Open for Canada Beer Cup 2023

OTTAWA, ON – The Canadian Craft Brewers Association (CCBA) has announced that registration is now open for entries into the 2023 edition of the Canada Beer Cup, a competition for independent breweries from coast to coast.

Returning for its 2nd year, the Canada Beer Cup will present gold, silver, and bronze awards in 67 beer style groups under 11 overall categories, plus a special “Canadian Grain-Forward Beer” category that is “designed to highlight the fact [that] Canadian farmers produce some of the finest grain in the world.”

Overseen by beer writer and expert Stephen Beaumont, the competition features an international judging panel – a first for any formal beer awards in Canada – and sees the Canada Beer Cup trophy awarded to the top scoring “best in show” beer. In 2022, this award went to Callister Brewing‘s Wee Laird Wee Heavy.

Breweries can register their beers for entry from April 3rd to May 19th, with an entry fee of $102 + HST per beer until April 16th, and $125 + HST after that date. $2 from each fee will support CCBA’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion efforts.

Beers will need to be submitted by mid-September (date and locations TBA), and the Canada Beer Cup 2023 awards ceremony will take place in conjunction with the Ontario Craft Brewers Conference, October 25th and 26th in Niagara Falls.
