Spearhead Brewing Acquires Sweetgrass Golden Ale

KINGSTON, ON – Spearhead Brewing has announced that it has acquired one of Ontario’s longest running contract brewed beer brands.

Sweetgrass Golden Ale was launched in 2013 as a house beer at Toronto’s Auld Spot Pub when the bar was under the ownership of Nicole and Nathan Hynes, and was initially brewed at Wellington Brewery. Distribution soon expanded to other bars and restaurants, as well as LCBO stores, and it has been brewed at Spearhead for the last several years.

“We see Sweetgrass Golden Ale as a great addition to our core products,” says Josh Hayter, President of Spearhead Brewing, in a statement. “Working with Nicole, we have really dialled in the recipe and we are honoured she chose us to carry on her legacy.”

Sweetgrass Golden Ale will remain available at its usual outlets, and is also in stock now at the Spearhead retail store and online shop.
