Cask & Kettle Irish Gastropub Opening Brewery in Saint John

SAINT JOHN, NB – The owners of New Brunswick’s Cask & Kettle Irish Gastropub have announced that they will soon be opening a brewery in Saint John.

The facility is currently being set up on Somerset Street across from the Zesty Lemon restaurant, and will produce five beers – Mickey Finn’s Pale Ale, Lady Aberdeen’s Irish Red, Slippery Bill Pub Ale, Sweet William’s Honey Wheat, and John Dunn’s IPA – to be served at Cask & Kettle locations in Saint John, Rothesay, and Grand Bay, as well as other select licensees.

Co-owner Mike McPartland tells Huddle that the beer names all have a connection to the historic building in Uptown Saint John where the first Cask & Kettle is located, noting that “back in 1890, [the building] was owned by a guy named Michael Finn and it was a liquor emporium. We’ve actually got pictures of [him] standing outside of the location and it looks exactly like the location now because it’s a heritage building.”
