The John Mitchell Award for Brewing Excellence was created to honor the legacy of the late John Mitchell, Canada’s original craft brewer and a pioneering figure in the craft beer movement who played a pivotal role in shaping the industry. In 1982, John Mitchell started an economic and cultural revolution when he pioneered Canada’s first craft brewery in Horseshoe Bay BC. John Mitchell’s dedication to innovation, quality, and community- building serves as an inspiration to brewers and beer enthusiasts worldwide.
