Garrison Signs 5-Year Contract for Locally Grown Hops

HALIFAX, NSGarrison Brewing announced today that they have signed a 5-year deal with FiddleHop Farms near Truro, giving them direct access to organic and locally grown hops.

In a statement, Garrison president Brian Titus said: “This really moves us from experimenting with local hop growing to long-term commercial production. We’re excited to get behind something we believe strongly in.”

Garrison intends to use hops grown at FiddleHop Farms in next year’s edition of their 3 Fields Harvest Ale, a wet-hopped beer brewed for the first time this past fall. The brewery will also be continuing their project of growing hops at the Ross Farm Museum, and is investigating other potential deals and partnerships to give them access to more hops grown in Nova Scotia.
