THORNBURY, ON – Colio Estate Wines has announced that it has purchased Provincial Beverages of Canada, the parent company of craft beer and cider producer Thornbury Beverage Company.
The sale comes several months after Provincial folded together two of its companies – King Brewery and Thornbury Cider – under the Thornbury Beverage name, and also announced plans to close the original King brewery in Nobleton and consolidate all beer and cider production at the Thornbury facility in its namesake village.
Colio has indicated that it intends to proceed with this plan, with the amalgamated production facility to be called Thornbury Village Brewery and Cidery. Beer and cider retail shops will also be opened at the location.
