TORONTO, ON – Bellwoods Brewery has announced plans to open a third brewing location – or second, depending on how one views the status of the brewery’s previously announced and long-delayed expansion.
As noted in a post on the Bellwoods website this morning, “landlord delays” have pushed out the timelines for the planned second location at 950 Dupont Street in Toronto, with an opening there now unlikely to take place any time before the summer of 2017.
In the meantime, the company has decided to install a brewing system in a warehouse space at 20 Hafis Road in North York that was originally planned to be used exclusively as a storage and shipping facility.
The 30-barrel brewhouse for the Hafis Road location will be arriving in mid-May, and the brewery – which will feature a retail store and possibly a tasting bar, but no brewpub – is expected to open later in 2016.
