Delta 9 Cannabis and Fort Garry Brewing Announce Plans for Hemp Beer

WINNIPEG, MB – Medical cannabis producer Delta 9 Cannabis has announced that it has entered into an agreement with Fort Garry Brewing to develop and market a hemp beer that they are aiming to have on the market this summer to mark the expected legalization of recreational marijuana in Canada.

Brewed using hemp seeds provided by Delta 9, the co-branded beer “will contain no cannabis or any other psychoactive agent produced from the cannabis plant,” and is planned to be available nationally. A non-alcoholic hemp beer is also being planned for future release, pending regulatory approvals.

“We see this as a great partnership between two iconic brands in Manitoba,” said Delta 9 CEO John Arbuthnot in a statement. “Fort Garry Brewing is one of the best craft brewers in Canada and is particularly popular in our home province, while Delta 9 is truly Manitoba’s Own Cannabis Producer. Combining our joint expertise  will allow us to provide some really innovative beverages for customers from coast to coast.”

More details on the partnership and products are expected to be announced closer to launch.
