EDMONTON, AB – For the second year in a row, Alberta’s craft breweries have come together to collaborate on a special one-off beer, with proceeds set to go to charity.
The 2010 edition of Unity Brew is a an amber ale which was created and brewed on Saturday, September 25th at Alley Kat Brewing in Edmonton.
In addition to the host brewery, other brewers participating included Yellowhead Brewing (Edmonton), Wild Rose Brewery (Calgary), Roughneck Brewing (Calmar), Jasper Brewing (Jasper), Grizzly Paw Brewing (Canmore), Drummond Brewing (Red Deer), Brewsters Brewing (Calgary and Edmonton), Brew Brothers (Calgary), Big Rock Brewing (Calgary) and Amber’s Brewing (Edmonton).
Unity Brew 2010 will be packaged in 650 ml bottles, and officially launched at the new SHA-BAM Beer Art & Music Festival which takes place at Mayfield Trade Centre in Edmonton on October 15 and 16. It will also be available through specialty liquor stores and through some of the participating brew pubs.
Proceeds from Unity Brew 2010 will be donated to the Kidney Foundation and a number of smaller local charities.
