Kensington Brewing Company Officially Launching This Week

TORONTO, ON – After a couple of weeks of offering a sneak peek/taste to his customers at Burger Bar, the restaurant he owns in Toronto’s Kensington Market, Brock Shepherd will be officially launching his Kensington Brewing Company this coming Friday.

First on tap from the brewery is Augusta Ale, named for the Kensington Market avenue that Burger Bar is located on. Described as a “west coast styled ale,” Augusta Ale – or A.A., as it’s been nicknamed – was developed by Shepherd in conjunction with Paul Dickey of Cheshire Valley Brewing. Like Cheshire Valley, Kensington Brewing is currently having its beer brewed at the Black Oak Brewery in Etobicoke on a contract basis, although Shepherd intends to have a small brewery up and running in the rear of Burger Bar by the end of the year.

Augusta Ale  will initially be available exclusively at Burger Bar, but plans are in place to distribute kegs and casks to other quality beer bars and pubs in Toronto and area soon.
