Kicking off tonight (May 29th) and continuing each Wednesday evening throughout the summer, Sausage League sees pairs of chefs from many of Toronto’s top restaurants taking over the Marben kitchen to prepare unique sausage-based dishes. Customers are invited to try both dishes along with a Muskoka beer pairing and vote on their favourite, with weekly winners going through to subsequent rounds, and the final winning chef receiving a trip for two to Chicago, home of sausage king Abe Froman.
Tonight’s debut battle will feature Bryan Birch of Barque going up against last year’s champion, Jesse Vallins from The Saint Tavern. Competitors in future weeks will include chefs from Bestellen, Trevor Kitchen and Bar, The Yukon, Farmhouse Tavern, Origin, Museum Tavern, The Harbord Room and Parts & Labour.
Sausage League dinners are $25 per person, and reservations can be made by calling Marben at 416-979-1990.
