Muddy York Brings Back Brick Maker Common

TORONTO, ONMuddy York Brewing has announced that return of a limited run beer that it describes as “commonly uncommon and 100% unique.”

Brick Maker Common is a 5.1% abv and 35 IBU ale-lager hybrid that has the following notes:

The California Common or steam beer style is brewed with a special strain of lager yeast that ferments at ale temperatures. This method dates back to the late 1800’s in California when refrigeration was a great luxury. The brewers back then had to improvise to cool the beer down, so shallow fermenters were used. So in a way the lager yeast was trained to ferment quicker at warmer temperatures. This yeast provides a beautiful array of fruity esters in the aroma and we’ve balanced this with the woody and sometimes mint flavours of Northern Brewer hops.

Brick Maker Common is available now in 500 ml bottles at the Muddy York retail store, along with a selection of Muddy York merchandise, including several items pictured with the beer above.
