Western Newfoundland Brewing Launches First Beers

PASADENA, NLThe St. John’s Telegram reports that the first brewery in western Newfoundland has released its inaugural beers for local drinkers to enjoy.

The aptly named Western Newfoundland Brewing has been founded by partners Norm MacDonald, Jim MacDonald, and Jennifer Galliott.

Located in the small town of Pasadena, the nanobrewery released the first kegs of its two flagship brands – Killdevil Pale Ale, named after Killdevil Mountain in nearby Gros Morne National Park; and Wild Cove Cream Ale – on December 30th.

Both beers are now on tap at Marble Mountain and Madison’s Restaurant in Steady Brook, and Sorrento in Corner Brook. More locations will be added as production ramps up, with plans to have beer available in Gros Morne by the summer.
