Wild Winds Brewery Debuts in Alberta with The Föhn Munich Helles Lager

PINCHER CREEK, AB – A brewery currently under development in the southern Alberta town of Pincher Creek has announced the release of a contract brewed version of its first beer.

Wild Winds Brewery is being established by brewer Jen Rogers and her husband Tim Prince, and has entered the market with The Föhn Munich Helles Lager (5% abv), which is named after German word for the warm and dry mountain wind known in Alberta as a Chinook.

The beer is described as follows:

We used all Alberta malt from our friends at Canada Malting and Red Shed Malting for the malty backbone of this tasty German Helles-style lager. A late addition of German Hersbrucker provides the subtle spicy, floral, fruity hop character. The German yeast contributes to the clean fermentation profile and the haze in the beer. Our Helles is unfiltered, full-bodied and has a clean, smooth, mildly grainy-sweet malty flavour and a soft, low bitterness finish. Because the Helles is such an enjoyable and refreshing beer, it will quickly become your everyday go-to brew.

The Föhn Munich Helles is available now at beer retailers throughout Alberta.
