TORONTO, ON – Bellwoods Brewery has announced the 2022 vintage of its annual anniversary beer, with this year’s edition marking the brewery’s 10th birthday.
Motley Cru 2022 is described as follows:
Motley Cru 2022 is a three year blend of spontaneous coolship beer. It was aged in neutral barrels and blended together to our taste, with the more mature beer providing classic wild fermentation characteristics and the younger beer exhibiting clean and fruity qualities. Combined, they provide the best of both worlds. In striking our preferred balance between older and newer barrels, we were also striving to create a beer that is simultaneously true to what we do and a nod to what Belgian Lambic breweries have been doing for centuries. And, because 10 years of beer-making has us feeling a little cheeky, we decided to split off a portion of Motley Cru 2022 and blend it with Pink Guava. That’s right! Two versions!
Motley Cru 2022 will be released at both Bellwoods retail locations on Saturday August 13th, with online sales starting at 9:00 AM. Both beers will be available in standard 500 ml bottles, with the non-flavoured version also being released in a limited number of 1.5 litre magnums.
Two additional new beers – Double Ghost Orchid w/ Phantasm and Jelly King Montmorency Cherry – will also be available along with several cellar beers, and the recently re-opened Bellwoods Brewpub on Ossington will be offering “a dream draught list, delicious new dishes from our kitchen and Motley Crus from years past”, while the Hafis taproom will have “Motley Cru on tap, cellar bottle pours and sights and sounds of the brewery.”
