The Establishment Brewing Company Releases Potion Approaching Barrel-Aged Ale with Hibiscus

CALGARY, AB – The Establishment Brewing Company has announced the release the latest beer from its barrel-aging program.

Potion Approaching (6.7% abv):

As much fun as a barrel of monkeys, and barrels are actually still involved—four of them, to be precise. This Mixed Culture Sour draws from three barrels of the Belgian Lambic variety, and a single of the Brett Saison persuasion. The Lambic-leaning barrels balance the bitterness and the Brett brings a malty magic to mellow the overall acid and add complexity to the fruit-forward funk of our house culture.

All told, the quartet comes together to give the base a nice roundness. It’s berry-forward on the nose with an oak and aged hop backing track. Hibiscus adds a touch of tannic tartness to the bouquet, but where the flower really powers through is the pigment, embellishing this potion with the colour of cartoon bloodstreams.

Potion Approaching is available now at the Establishment retail shop and online store while supplies last.
