Alley Kat Brewing Named Beer Partner of Edmonton Riverhawks

EDMONTON, ABAlley Kat Brewing and West Coast League baseball team Edmonton Riverhawks have announced a partnership that gives Alley Kat pouring rights at the team’s home games, making RE/MAX Field the only major sports venue in Edmonton to offer fans exclusively local craft beer.

“We are thrilled to enter into this landmark agreement with the Riverhawks,” said Alley Kat owner Cam French in a statement. “This will resonate with the growing number of beer drinkers who love their craft beer.”

“We want to shop local whenever possible and support great companies like Alley Kat,” added Riverhawks managing director Dr. Randy Gregg. “It makes so much sense on so many levels. There are economic spinoffs all the way down the line to Alberta farmers, who produce the ingredients to make such great beers.”

“We have been advocating for years to get access to sports venues,” said Blair Berdusco, head of the Alberta Small Brewers Association. “The Riverhawks opened their doors immediately last year during their inaugural season with their Craft Corner. This takes that commitment to a whole new level.”

In addition to Alley Kat beer being available on tap at all concessions and in cans throughout the stadium, the aforementioned Craft Corner will remain in place, featuring beers from other local breweries including Analog Brewing, Town Square Brewing, Polyrhythm Brewing and The Growlery.

The Edmonton Riverhawks will play the first game of their sophomore season at RE/MAX Field on Tuesday June 13th, and will play 27 home games through to Sunday, August 6th.
