Yellow Dog Brewing and Fairmont Hotel Vancouver Release The Lobby Dog Lager

VANCOUVER, BC – Yellow Dog Brewing and Fairmont Hotel Vancouver have announced the release of a new collaborative beer in support of BC & Alberta Guide Dogs.

The Lobby Dog Lager is “a light, crisp and refreshing brew” named in honour of Ella and Elly, two dogs who have have been canine ambassadors for the pet-friendly Fairmont Hotel Vancouver since 2017. Both of them were guide dog trainees who were too social for that career, and were adopted by concierges at the hotel who bring them to work 5 days a week.

“We are thrilled to launch a new house beer with a local partner who shares our passion for quality and community,” said Chris Robinson, Director of Food & Beverage at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, in a statement. “We believe our guests will enjoy this new beer offering that supports a great cause with every sip.”

“We were very excited to be able to collaborate with the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver team to create this special brew,” added Yellow Dog Brewery’s Marketing Manager, Sydney Nikulka. “We were thrilled to work on this special project that not only allowed us to develop a tasty beer to honour some canine icons, but also connects to our core values of supporting our dogs, community, and animal welfare.”

The Lobby Dog Lager is available now at Notch8 Restaurant & Bar and other Fairmont Hotel Vancouver vanues, with partial proceeds going to sponsor a dog in the BC & Alberta Guide Dog’s Puppy Raising program.

The hotel also is running a contest to name the sponsored pup, with entries open via the hotel website until September 1st. The winning entry will be revealed on September 8th, and will receive a prize package of a one-night stay at Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, including dinner for two at Notch8 with a round of The Lobby Dog Lager.
